Happy 5 Year Anniversary!
This month, Heidi’s Healing Hands is celebrating its 5th Year Anniversary of business in Fort Collins!
Thank you to everyone who has made this day possible and, as a thank you, I am offering two great specials for the month of April.
First, all new and existing clients will receive $10 off Raindrop Therapy, a practice that utilizes the art of aromatherapy with the techniques of massage in the application of essential oils to various areas of the body, focusing on the spine. Second, the 5-pack of massages, normally $295, are only $265 this month!
In addition to saying thank you and sharing about the anniversary specials, I want to use this post to reflect on the past few years, as well as share my hopes for the future.
After I became a certified and registered massage therapist through the Therapeutic Massage program at the Fort Collins Institute of Business and Medical Careers in 2009, I was hired by a chiropractor as a private contractor instead of an employee. When I started growing my client base I wanted to see if I could make it on my own, so I made the leap!
I am often asked about when I knew I wanted to be a massage therapist and, the truth is, ever since I was just a little girl! I started working on my friends and family members’ shoulders and backs and, when I was fresh out of college and working, I had a coworker that begged me to go to massage school saying ‘it’s your calling!’ I truly love massage therapy because it allows me the opportunity to help heal people’s bodies and it gives clients a space to just be, breathe and rest – a space that is sorely lacking in our lives today.
One of the traits I feel has made Heidi’s Healing Hands successful is that I really take the time to listen to clients’ needs and wants and I make sure they know it is their massage and they are not just subjected to my agenda. I also want everyone to leave my office feeling healed, whether it is the beginning of the healing process if the issue has been a chronic problem or if the issue has just occurred and can be completely solved in one session!
One of the bigger changes for the business in the last 5 years is the studio relocation in 2013. I moved the practice to the current location because, although I had been in a lovely spa, I want the opportunity to create the environment I want my clients’ experience. I also feel my new location is easy for clients to find. This studio is so peaceful and quiet and it is exactly where I want to be.
As the business celebrates 5 years, I have also had a lot of time to think about future goals and aspirations. One desire I have for this next year is to build business to the point of needing to hire a staff member or two. I would also love to start partnering more with local chiropractors and physical therapists to help their patients along in the healing process.
Overall, I love that my business is here! I love that Fort Collins is a small enough town so my business and I can really get established into the community. Fort Collins is full of amazing and incredibly talented people and I feel blessed to have the opportunity to build my business here. I also love being outside, like everyone here in Colorado! I am excited for warmer weather so I can go running, hiking, biking, and horseback riding to name a few! I am up for almost anything in the great outdoors here in this lovely town.
Finally, I want to encourage anyone who is a small business owner. Stick to your passion and dig your roots down deep so when it gets difficult you will have enough of a foundation and goal that you will be able to persevere!
